Folding Japanese Saw — User Guide
User guide for your Thorvald Folding Japanese Saw. The principle: a Japanese saw cuts on the pull stroke, for clean, precise cuts.
🎥 The saw in action
🧰 How to use
- Unfold and lock: open the blade until it locks; 2 notches let you adjust the cutting angle to the job.
- Cut on the pull stroke: unlike a western saw, the blade cuts as you pull it towards you. Don't press on the return stroke: let the teeth do the work.
- Flush cutting: the flexible blade lies flat against the surface to trim dowels and plugs without damaging the wood.
- Fold after use: the blade stores in the handle: safe to carry and store.
📏 Specifications
Open length 56 cm · folded 30.5 cm · 23.5 cm SK5 carbon steel blade, quick-change replaceable.
⚠️ Safety precautions
- The teeth are extremely sharp: check that the blade is locked before sawing.
- Wearing protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses) is recommended during use.
- Keep the cardboard sheet and the batch number.
- Keep out of reach of children: contains small parts.
💡 Tip: Clean the blade after use (resin, sap) and store it dry to preserve the edge.
